Welcome to the West Midlands Strut of the Light Aircraft Association
Ours is a group of private pilots and aviation enthusiasts living mainly in the West Midlands region. We hold our meetings at the Quinborne Community Centre (west Birmingham) on the first Wednesday of the month where guest presenters provide informative talks and members and visitors swap information, stories and news. Recent subjects included the evolution of the "Sting Carbon" and the development of a modern, low cost, rotary engine. See past Newsletters for a flavour of what we do.
We organise occasional visits to aviation related places such as the "Stafford reserve collection" of the Cosford aviation museum, not normally open to the public.
We also organise and assists with various events and Fly-ins including Air-Camps and aviation training for youngsters in conjunction with Scouts and ATC groups.
Many members are involved in building, maintaining and operating their own aircraft and have a wealth of experience. Other non-flying members come along for the talks and get involved by providing valuable assistance at our various events.
LAA members and non-members are all welcome to come along to our meetings without obligation. Application Form.xls   Application Form.pdf
